PENNSYLVANIA: A Victorian Reborn

The brief: To make a worn out kitchen more open to the rest or the living space while making it feel like it had always been there.

The homeowners had many pieces collected and curated over the years that had to be incorporated: an antique door hinge bought at a flea in Paris, vintage stools in need of repair, and some of the pottery and art housed in the adjacent studio.

We designed a custom blend of painted and wood cabinetry. The walnut table top and hutch are meant to look and feel like old furniture pieces. The backsplash was imported from Italy, and all the appliances were upgraded.

The result is a unique, lived-in and timeless kitchen that allows our clients to indulge their passion for cooking and entertaining for years to come.

The Renovation

From the very extensive structural remodel to shore up the floor and open the kitchen to the dining room, new electrical, plumbing, and lighting, everything in this space is new, but thanks to the finishes it feels like it’s always been part of the home.

The Inspiration

Antique hardware, wood carving, salvaged stone to widen the window, an Italian made commercial stove... so much inspiration !
